Ayurvedic Remedies for Sleep Apnoea
Sleep apnea is a common sleep-related disorder that results in repeated stoppage and starting of bre a thing during sleep. It is of three types, namely central, obstructive, and complex sleep apneas, of which obstructive sleep apnea is the most common one. Central sleep apnea occurs when message transmission between the brain and muscles responsible for windpipe movement fails. Further, it leads to shallow breathing or the stoppage of breathing for a few seconds. On the other hand, obstructive sleep apnea is caused when the windpipes collapse, resulting in airway obstruction. Unlike central sleep apnea, obstructive sleep apnea can last from 10 seconds to minutes and is strongly associated with obesity. Besides, it can also be related to age or due to other reasons such as fat deposition around the windpipe, problems with the sinuses, and inflamed tonsils. Symptoms of sleep apnea include insomnia, daytime sleepiness, dry mouth and throat, fatigue, depression, headache, mood swings...
